(8-Week Mindfulness for Health & Happiness Course)

"I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning more about themselves and their minds, in particular to people who are under stress and get easily overwhelmed because you can learn to understand yourself and your reactions better, to become calmer and more in control even in busy or difficult situations and to approach them (and yourself) more non-judgmentally and kindly.

I was definitely surprised how much I was able and keen to take from the sessions and use and practice in my day-to-day life. I was expecting the course to be very interesting but I think I did not expect it to be quite so engaging and I am surprised the materials from the sessions did not just end up buried and forgotten somewhere in a drawer - I have actually been reading and working through them.

I think that if I manage to keep practicing some of what we learned regularly, it will certainly help me stay ‘in touch’ with myself and my values, which should ultimately lead to more happiness and hopefully health as well.

I would just like to reiterate how enjoyable and thought-provoking an experience it was for me and thank you for offering and delivering the course to us so well!"

Do you sometimes feel anxious in everyday situations?

Anxiety seems to be on the rise and if you’re affected by it, it’s not usually obvious what you can do about it. If you don’t know how to calm your anxious mind, you’ll probably end up designing your life around avoiding difficult situations. This can result in you living a restricted life with no peace of mind.

Today doctors are finding that anxiety is one of the most common conditions being presented at their sugeries.  Even if you don’t consider yourself to be an anxious person it’s easy to be affected by the anxiety of others around you.

Mindfulness is a great skill that can help you see anxiety inducing situations more clearly, and have more choice around how you respond. Instead of anxiety driving your life decisions, you’ll be more able to use your mindfulness skills to find a more workable way to engage with life more calmly and confidently.

Mindfulness Mavericks, John Nolan and Joy Taylor, have designed this 3-hour introductory workshop for you to experience and learn more about mindful ways of coping with anxiety and calming your mind, in a small friendly group.

On this workshop you’ll learn about:

  • Why anxiety is on the rise
  • What it is and how it affects your mind and body
  • How to let go of anxiety as it arises
  • How to avoid anxiety snowballing into something that stops you from living a full life
  • Practical tools and tips you can use to help yourself for the rest of your life
