It is often said that the children are our future. Being the next in line, it’s vital for them to have the best education and training to better equip them to deal with what lies ahead.
We may succeed in cultivating brilliant mathematicians, scientists, economists, businessmen, doctors, etc. However, can we say exactly the same for their levels of success when it comes to their emotional intelligence and overall well-being?
A wonderful TEDx Youth presentation by Anne Marie Rossi explores the importance of Mindfulness education in schools. For Rossi, Mindfulness is the “foundation for all other leaning” as it affects all the successes you’ll have in your life. Also, it’s through this age-old practice that people of all ages become more reflective and responsive, rather than reactive when dealing with life’s challenges.
It’s quite interesting to hear Rossi’s arguments on why we she thinks that Mindfulness should be integrated in our schools.
