Once again I find another research article that states the obvious.
It’s no surprise that being around animals makes us happier and living longer.
We know that dog owners tend to live 4 1/2 years more non-dog owners. It’s far more than just exercise. We know that human beings are highly social creatures. Animals like dogs and many others are also social. Social interaction even with an animal brings meaning to many lives. I know with my guide dog it is a true relationship. Admittedly Jim does not say much to me.
